Women in Production:

Most “Rosie the Riveters” had prewar experience in the labor force.  Other women, even those who were married, joined the assembly lines. For the first time in their lives, many women performed jobs that were now viewed by the public as necessary and valuable. Below are Dora Miles and Dorothy Johnson working at the Long Beach Plant.
