INTERN DUTIES INCLUDE:

• NWHM Interns help to share in the Museum's administrative duties which might include researching and drafting articles for various women's professional magazines and newsletters, helping to draft press releases, help with database input and membership fulfillment and membership correspondence.
  
  
• As NWHM continues to upgrade its Web Site, Interns will work on educational projects that will be displayed on the Web Site, including biographies and new Cyber Exhibitions.
  
  
• NWHM Interns must read the articles and NWHM historical files so that they may gain a full understanding of the many accomplishments of women throughout history and can better answer the questions of those calling into Museum Headquarters and to help Members who may call in looking for information on various topics relating to women.

Interns may receive a monthly stipend. Hours are flexible; interns are expected to work at least 15 hours per week. The NWHM office, located in Alexandria, VA, is ten miles outside Washington, DC and easily accessible via the Metro.

Unfortunately, NWHM cannot arrange for interns' housing or transportation.

To Apply for an Internship, potential interns must submit an up-to-date resume no later than 45 days prior to your desired start date. In most instances, an interview is required. A phone interview can be arranged if you are not currently in the area.

NWHM gladly welcomes interns whose Universities or Colleges allow them to do internships for scholastic credits. The Museum is happy to work with you and your professors to help you get the expertise and experience in the areas you need.
