During World War II, the US faced a labor shortage as more and more men left to fight overseas. Women were ready and willing to help wherever needed but there was resistance from corporations and the government who believed women incapable of the work. Women quickly proved them wrong. More than 19 million women took up jobs and forever changed the American workforce.
