NWHM’S LINDA DENNY NAMED WBENC PRESIDENT
NWHM National Coalition member organization The Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC), named NWHM Board Member Linda Denny as its new President on June 26, 2007. The announcement was made at WBENC’s annual Women In Business conference in Los Angeles last month, and the new role became effective on July 1.

NWHM COALITION ORGANIZATION HOSTS MOTHER’S DAY TEA EVENT
On the afternoon of May 7, 2007, NWHM President Susan Jollie attended an event sponsored by NWHM National Coalition member organization the General Federation of Women’s Clubs (GFWC). GFWC International President Jacquelyn Pierce hosted the Mother’s Day Tea reception at GFWC Headquarters in Washington, D.C. Approximately 100 members, supporters, and guests attended the event, representing seven states and the District of Columbia. The reception featured finger foods, desserts, and, of course, tea! Bouquets of fresh flowers were placed in teakettles throughout the parlor and dinning rooms. Ms. Pierce was also the speaker, presenting a program entitled “The First Ladies Tea Party.” NWHM is proud to maintain such a mutually beneficial relationship with this fine organization.

NWHM ADDRESSES OFFICE OF PERSONNEL MANAGEMENT
Two accomplished speakers from the National Women’s History Museum graced a Women’s History Month Special Observance Event at the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) on March 28. NWHM President Susan Jollie and Board Member Brigadier General Wilma Vaught (USAF, Ret.) were invited to address OPM employees about women in federal service, civilian and military, respectively.
