National Women’s History Museum Awarded “Best In America” Seal of Approval

sealAlexandria, VA – August 8, 2014 – National Women’s History Museum is pleased to have been awarded the “Best In America” Seal of Approval by the Independent Charities of America. The Seal is awarded to charities that have, following rigorous independent review, certified, documented, and demonstrated on an annual basis their success meeting the highest standards of public accountability, program effectiveness, and cost effectiveness.

The award standards meet the US Government’s requirements for inclusion in the Combined Federal Campaign, which is among the world’s most exclusive fund drives. Of the 1,000,000 charities operating in the United States today, fewer than 2,000 have been awarded the Seal.

The National Women’s History Museum educates, inspires, empowers, and shapes the future by integrating women’s distinctive history into the culture and history of the United States. NWHM has previously been recognized with a GuideStar Exchange Gold Level participation logo as well as a four star rating from Charity Navigator in Transparency and Accountability.
