NWHM REPRESENTATIVES ATTEND 2007 MANA CONFERENCE
MANA – A National Latina Organization held their annual Educational and Training Conferenceover Memorial Day weekend in Santa Fe, New Mexico. MANA is a member of NWHM’s National Coalition of women’s professional and service organizations. NWHM Board member Alma Morales Riojas, as President of MANA, hosted the three-day conference, and NWHM President Susan Jollie attended on behalf of the Museum.
The theme of the conference was “Latina Health and Wealth,” with sessions offered on leadership, entrepreneurship, wealth-creation, and health and wellness. Attendees also enjoyed evening entertainment including music, an outdoor reception, and a Red Dress fashion show.
Ms. Riojas offered this welcome to conference participants:
Bienvenidas! Once again, we celebrate as our organization gathers leaders from across the country to discuss, to learn, to share, and to grow as individuals and as a community. We are excited to come to the Land of Enchantment. You cannot visit Santa Fe without having the sense of a higher spirit and that the beauty of the land, the skies, the mountains, and the people will stay with you forever. Join us in celebrating two days and a half of “hermanidad,” making new friends, getting reacquainted with longtime friends and communicating with us.
NWHM congratulates MANA on a successful conference. The Museum is proud to support the activities of National Coalition member organizations such as MANA.
