On the afternoon of May 7, 2007, NWHM President Susan Jollie attended an event sponsored by NWHM National Coalition member organization the General Federation of Women’s Clubs (GFWC). GFWC International President Jacquelyn Pierce hosted the Mother’s Day Tea reception at GFWC Headquarters in Washington, D.C. Approximately 100 members, supporters, and guests attended the event, representing seven states and the District of Columbia. The reception featured finger foods, desserts, and, of course, tea! Bouquets of fresh flowers were placed in teakettles throughout the parlor and dinning rooms. Ms. Pierce was also the speaker, presenting a program entitled “The First Ladies Tea Party.” NWHM is proud to maintain such a mutually beneficial relationship with this fine organization.
