Molly Bordonaro is co-managing partner of Gerding Edlen Investment Management, a full-service real estate investment and development firm specializing in urban office and multi-family assets. In her capacity, Ms. Bordonaro oversees the Firm's investment, finance and asset management groups, which include over $1 billion of assets under management.
Prior to joining Gerding Edlen, Ms. Bordonaro was a principal in the Portland office of The Gallatin Group, securing public financing for large private-public real estate projects. Earlier in her career, she served as the co-founding director of Portland Family of Funds (now United Fund Advisors), a community investment bank specializing in the financing of real estate development in low and moderate income areas.
From 2005 - 2009, Ms. Bordonaro took time out from business to serve as the United States Ambassador to the Republic of Malta, becoming the first American diplomat to receive Malta’s highest award, the Medal of Honor, or Gieh ir Reublika, for significant contributions to Malta, the Mediterranean region and the strengthened relations with the United States.
She has also served as a member of the U.S. Congressional Commission on the Advancement of Women in Science and Technology, a board member of Portland State University's Center for Real Estate, and as a member of the board of directors of the Fannie Mae Corporation.
Ms. Bordonaro received her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Colorado, Boulder. She and her husband Matt have three children and reside in Portland, Oregon
